On June 5, 2025, Ayodhya witnessed a momentous event as the Ram Darbar and seven other temples within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex were consecrated. This ceremony, coinciding with the sacred festival of Ganga Dussehra, marked a significant chapter in the spiritual and cultural tapestry of India.
The day began with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offering prayers at the Hanuman Garhi Mandir, setting a devotional tone for the events to follow. Later, he participated in the Pran Pratishtha rituals on the first floor of the Ram Temple, where the idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman were ceremoniously installed. The atmosphere was imbued with spiritual fervor as Vedic chants resonated throughout the temple premises.
The consecration ceremony was not limited to the Ram Darbar alone. Seven other temples within the complex, dedicated to deities such as Sheshavatar, Shiva, Ganesh Ji, Surya Dev, Maa Bhagwati, and Annapurna Mata, also underwent Pran Pratishtha. This simultaneous consecration was facilitated through the integration of modern audio-visual technology, ensuring that rituals were conducted in unison across the complex.
Security measures were meticulously planned and executed to accommodate the influx of devotees from across the country and abroad. The temple complex was designated as a red zone, with the deployment of ATS commandos, CRPF, PAC, and civil police personnel. Modern surveillance equipment was installed to monitor the area, ensuring the safety and smooth conduct of the ceremonies.
The significance of this event was further amplified by its alignment with Ganga Dussehra, a festival commemorating the descent of the holy river Ganga to Earth. This convergence of spiritual milestones underscored the deep-rooted cultural and religious heritage of the region.
In a gesture that bridged cultural and technological realms, Errol Musk, father of Elon Musk, visited the Ram Mandir during his five-day trip to India. His presence at the consecration ceremony highlighted the global resonance of Ayodhya’s spiritual significance.
The culmination of these events not only marked the fulfillment of a 500-year-old aspiration but also symbolized a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. As the sacred chants faded into the evening, the essence of unity and devotion lingered, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those present.
