Adani Enterprises saw its stock price tick up by 1.15% in today’s trading, closing at Rs 2,549.10—placing it among the top gainers within the NIFTY 50 pack.

A deeper look into the company’s financials paints a picture of evolving business dynamics. In the latest quarterly figures for March 2025, revenue dropped to Rs 26,965.86 crore from Rs 29,180.02 crore year-over-year. However, despite the dip in top-line numbers, bottom-line growth was remarkable: net profit surged to Rs 3,974.62 crore, a significant leap from Rs 265.58 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Earnings per share mirrored this leap, rising sharply to Rs 32.98 from Rs 3.49.

Looking at previous quarters, there’s a mixed trajectory. In December 2024, the company reported Rs 22,848.42 crore in revenue, but net profit took a hit, slipping into the red at -Rs 16.54 crore. The EPS for that quarter was flat at Rs 0.04. The September 2024 quarter fared better with Rs 22,608.07 crore in revenue and Rs 1,890.98 crore in net profit. In June 2024, the company delivered Rs 25,472.40 crore in revenue and a net profit of Rs 1,648.20 crore.

Annual numbers offer a broader perspective. For FY25, Adani Enterprises posted Rs 97,894.75 crore in revenue and Rs 7,497.26 crore in net profit. EPS reached Rs 60.55, while the company’s book value per share rose to Rs 435.92. Return on equity strengthened to 14.10%, although the debt-to-equity ratio increased slightly to 1.52, hinting at a higher leverage position.

For context, the previous fiscal (FY24) had revenue at Rs 96,420.98 crore and net profit of Rs 3,293.40 crore. In FY23, revenue was significantly higher at Rs 136,977.76 crore, though net profit stood lower at Rs 2,208.94 crore. Going further back, FY22 saw Rs 69,420.18 crore in revenue and Rs 475.37 crore in profit, and FY21 reported Rs 39,537.13 crore with Rs 746.32 crore in profit.

Key metrics show an upward trend over the years. Basic EPS rose from Rs 8.39 in FY21 to Rs 60.55 in FY25. Book value per share more than doubled in the same period, while return on equity also improved notably. The company has been managing its financing mix cautiously, although the debt-to-equity ratio suggests a moderate reliance on debt.

From a cash flow standpoint, operating activities generated Rs 4,513 crore in FY25, marking a stable cash-generating core business. However, capital expenditure and investments led to a significant cash outflow of Rs 26,258 crore. This was partly offset by Rs 21,947 crore in financing inflows.

Market sentiment around the stock remains highly optimistic, with analysts expressing a bullish outlook based on recent performance and long-term growth potential.
